A monk asked Joshu , » Does an oak tree have Buddha-nature or not ?«  Joshu replied, » It has « . Then the monk asked, » When does the oak tree become Buddha ?«  Joshu said, » It waits for the sky to fall to earth.« The monk asked,   »When does it fall to earth ?« Joshu said, » It waits for the oak tree to become Buddha. »

Great master Joshu, Chao Chou, began to study the way at the age of 61.   At that time he said : » if I meet a hundred-year-old man who is inferior to me, I will teach him; if I meet a seven-year-old child who is superior to me,   I will ask him about the way «

Our next ZAZENDAY  will be hold on the first Sunday of March. As usually we will start at 9 am and will finish at  6 pm. A vegetarian lunch will be served. Donation based. Please feel welcome !

DON´T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE ENLIGHTENED . We don´t sweep the floor just to have a clean floor. We clean things so that we can use them. We sweep the floor so that we can walk on it.

As usual on the first Sunday of the month we do a day of ZAZEN, Sitting Meditation, in the Dojo Tai Ku An near Barão São João. Beginning is at  9am , we will finish at  6pm. A vegetarian lunch will be served. Donation based.  Feel welcome .
