MBSR – Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course

Designed to support participants in developing their own mindfulness practice and learn new ways of handling difficult physical sensations, feelings and moods, in everyday life.

MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in 1979. MBSR is now the most estabilshed and thoroughly researched mindfulness training in the world.

It is particular helpfull for people who feel that it ́s time for makeing a change – because stress and pressure have become too much, or because they long for new possibilities in life – professionally and personally.

“Mindfulness provides a simple and powerful route for getting ourselves unstuck,
back in touch with our own wisdom and vitality….

Being in touch with your deepest nature and letting it flow out of you unimpeded.”
-Jon Kabat-Zinn-

Bring mindfulness into everyday life

We all experience stressfull situtations in life. MBSR offers a practical way to cultivate awareness and presence in daily moments.

Whether at work, in family life, relationships or while navigating health challenges.

Why Mindfulness?

In stressful situations, we often react automatically (autopilot). Mindfulness helps us pause, notice what is happening, and respond rather than react.

This simple shift opens the door to greater calm, clarity, balance, and a deeper sense of happiness.

The First Step: You

Self-care is essential
Before anything can change on the outside, we start within.

  • What stresses me?
  • What nourishes me?
  • Where can I use my strengths most fully?

Mindfulness supports us in exploring these questions with curiosity and kindness.

Discover More Space and Ease

By getting to know oneself more deeply, we reconnect with:

  • Inner calm
  • Joy
  • Trust

And from this place, new choices and possibilities naturally emerge.

A Path for Everyone

MBSR invites us to live more consciously and compassionately.

Anyone can walk this path — and it begins with one simple decision: to start.

About Me

My name is Annette Klasen. I was born in Germany and have been living in Portugal for the past 25 years.

Meditation has been an integral part of my life since 1995 – it is the red thread and guiding force that runs through my life. Through regular practice, my meditation has gradually deepened and evolved. In recent years, I have felt an increasing desire to share this practice with others.

Mindfulness Meditation and MBSR are wonderful ways to do so. I have also trained in the method of Dyads – mindful dialogue practiced in pairs – with Tania Singer (Max Planck Institute, Berlin).

I completed my MBSR Teacher Training with Bodhin Westwood (Solterreno, Spain). Regular silent retreats with Marie Mannschatz in Germany continue to be profound personal highlights for me.

In Portugal, I regularly lead meditation sessions at Dojo TAI KU AN.

Recognizing and supporting the true peaceful nature of every living being is both my heartfelt intention and my deep joy in this life.
